Make HIS name Great


Are you quick to call the name of Jesus when something goes wrong? Does God enter your mind when you're having the best day?

Prayer

Words are powerful. God's Word contains much power. Your prayers have power as well. A simple conversation with God can have a huge impact on your day. Pray multiple times a day. Share everything with God.

Stress Relief

School is wrapping up, so it seems many things are happening at once. This rush of events,emotions,and situations can create stress in our lives and turn us away from God. We must remember to seek HIM first in All things. Ask God to relieve your stress and he will do so if you obey His word. Your faith is being tested so be wise and choose God. Know that these problems are only for a season. Just trust God and reap the results.

Looking for Love?

Looking for love but can't seem to find it? Most likely you are looking for love in all the wrong places. The right place would be God. Did you know that God wrote your love story? He wrote it without any input from you, so don't try and dictate your story to Him. Allow him to reveal it to you instead.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.
Ephesians 3:20


God's Love

Unconditional, unlimited, complete, indescribable, amazing, unfailing, absolute. This is God's Love.

When you think that you are walking in this world alone, be aware of God's love for you. Heartbreak, heartache, and headache have no affect on the power of God's love. Ask God to allow you to experience his great love.

Distractions


There can be so many things that seek our attention, such as school, friends, activities or things that we desire. It can be very easy to get distracted by these things, but we have to stay focused on God and His purpose for us. God wants us to enjoy the things around us, however He must prevail over all of them. Put Him first always and commit everything you do to the Lord. Don't allow your distractions to be more powerful than God's presence in your life.

Ask God to help you by including this scripture in your prayers.
Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.

Praise Him


Everyone has that one song that no matter what time or place it comes on, you will dance or "jam out" to it.

God wants us to praise Him; no matter the time or place. He wants us to direct the joy felt during song to Him. He wants us to sing a song dedicated to Him. Praise shows our reverence and gratitude towards Him. The book of Psalms is filled with songs of praise. I challenge you all to praise Him multiple times a day.

Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!

God..Why?



A lot of us have that one question that we want to ask God. The question is: Why? "Why is this happening to me?" "Why do I have to deal with this?" "WHY?" Many times, when we're in a tough situation, we want to throw that question at God. However we might focus too much on why we are going through things, and we end up missing our blessing. So whatever your situation, you can seek God's help. Stop worrying about why and just know that you can get through it, with God of course.

Trusting God


Trust by definition is to have confidence or faith in. But what does it mean to really trust God? A great way to start is by saying "Lord, I trust you." However we must do something to prove this trust, as James 2:17 says "in the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." My pastor says, "You can come in here and sit down without checking to see if all the screws are secure in your chair. So if you can trust that chair, you can trust God." Just believe and give Him complete control over your situation.

Living Holy


"How do you do it? How do you live a Godly life in today's world? It is impossible."

First of all, "Nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37)." However it is not easy living Godly in today's world. Sin is constantly everywhere. TV, movies, internet, friends, family..EVERYWHERE! You just have to stay focused on God and "keep your eye on the prize." Ask God to help you on your journey, He wont say no.


By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:3

Life can be dominated by our "I wants" and "If onlys". I have wanted certain things to happen in my life. However we must obey what God wants, or His will, for our lives. We can't focus on the things that we want to change about our lives or the things that we want. Instead we can be satisfied with what we have. The tragedy in Haiti is one example of how everything can be stripped from you in an instant.

I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.

I am Different

Keep your glasses on!


I wear contacts/glasses and when I go to sleep without them, my vision is blurry. I have a clock that is visible from my bed. I can see the green outlining and of course I know its there, but I can't see what time it is. God is our clock. He gives us the "time", which is the guidance we need and purpose we long for. We all know that God is there, but if we can't see the time, we can't receive what God wants to tell us. God has given us glasses (Jesus goggles) so that we can see and receive Him. However, it is left up to us to put them on and keep them on.

Neglecting God

God is the source of our everything. Life, breath, health, strength, opportunity, family, friends. EVERYTHING! It can be very easy to neglect God, when there are so many other things that try to take the place of God. I have experienced this in the past couple of weeks, but it is stopping today. God is first in 2010. That was is my statement of the year. Thank you Lord.


Dear God, allow me to put you first in everything, everyday.

Communication with God


What would your boyfriend/girlfriend, best friend, or parents do if you didn't talk to them for a couple of days? Break up with you, be furious with you, or ground you? What if it was the other way around and they stopped talking to you? How would you react?

Most of us stay in constant communication with the ones we care for. We should also stay in constant contact with God. Praying and talking to God multiple times a day are ways to do this. After all God has done for us, we shouldn't go without communicating with Him.
The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

School Fellowship




I am apart of a fellowship group at my school (shout out to FCA members!). We meet every Thursday morning before school. Our speakers are members, one of our sponsors, or people in the community. They give testimonies, short sermons, experiences, encouragement or advice involving the word of God. Its great way to receive the word from a peer or another point of view. If you have a Christian group at your school, join it and be an active member by attending regularly and/or participating. If you don't, be bold and start one. Get a group of friends to support you and get excited about congregating with fellow Christian peers.

Church is like a gas station and the Word of God is our fuel. You can't buy gas at Pizza Hut and you can't receive the Word of God at a bar. Whether big or small, make an effort to attend church.

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

A Prayer

Being a teen, it can be hard to juggle friends, school, jobs, boyfriends/girlfriends and everything else in life. It can be easy to forget God, but just remember to include Him in EVERYTHING.
Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.
Psalm 37:5
