I am Different

I desire the best for myself. Do you? I'm not afraid to admit that I am different. I don't want to be like everyone else around me.

God also desires the very best for us. He wants us to be like Him. Different. Set apart from those who don't know Him. This may seem difficult at times, but God is here to help us every step of the way.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:2

Keep your glasses on!

I wear contacts/glasses and when I go to sleep without them, my vision is blurry. I have a clock that is visible from my bed. I can see the green outlining and of course I know its there, but I can't see what time it is. God is our clock. He gives us the "time", which is the guidance we need and purpose we long for. We all know that God is there, but if we can't see the time, we can't receive what God wants to tell us. God has given us glasses (Jesus goggles) so that we can see and receive Him. However, it is left up to us to put them on and keep them on.

Neglecting God

"I don't have to pray right now, I'll do it later."

God is the source of our everything. Life, breath, health, strength, opportunity, family, friends. EVERYTHING! It can be very easy to neglect God, when there are so many other things that try to take the place of God. I have experienced this in the past couple of weeks, but it is stopping today. God is first in 2010. That was is my statement of the year. Thank you Lord.

Dear God, allow me to put you first in everything, everyday.
I know that You are my number one resource.
Please allow me to never forget that.
I love You with all my heart.
In Jesus name,
Amen

Cycle of Sin

Trisha sinned.
Trisha asked God for forgiveness and she was forgiven.
Trisha sinned again.
Trisha asked God for forgiveness and she was forgiven once again.
Trisha sinned again.

It can be easy to get stuck in the cycle of sin but this is not God's best for our lives.

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers
Psalm 1:1

Communication with God

What would your boyfriend/girlfriend, best friend, or parents do if you didn't talk to them for a couple of days? Break up with you, be furious with you, or ground you? What if it was the other way around and they stopped talking to you? How would you react?

Most of us stay in constant communication with the ones we care for. We should also stay in constant contact with God. Praying and talking to God multiple times a day are ways to do this. After all God has done for us, we shouldn't go without communicating with Him.
The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
Psalm 145:18

School Fellowship

I am apart of a fellowship group at my school (shout out to FCA members!). We meet every Thursday morning before school. Our speakers are members, one of our sponsors, or people in the community. They give testimonies, short sermons, experiences, encouragement or advice involving the word of God. Its great way to receive the word from a peer or another point of view. If you have a Christian group at your school, join it and be an active member by attending regularly and/or participating. If you don't, be bold and start one. Get a group of friends to support you and get excited about congregating with fellow Christian peers.

God's Word

I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me.
Proverbs 8:17

Why sit around waiting on the phone to ring? Give God a call. God is basically saying no matter the day or time, I will pick up the phone. Seek God first and don't rely on yourself. God loves you, despite your circumstances.

God's House

Church is like a gas station and the Word of God is our fuel. You can't buy gas at Pizza Hut and you can't receive the Word of God at a bar. Whether big or small, make an effort to attend church.

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:25

A Prayer

Being a teen, it can be hard to juggle friends, school, jobs, boyfriends/girlfriends and everything else in life. It can be easy to forget God, but just remember to include Him in EVERYTHING.
Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.
Psalm 37:5

Dear Lord,
Allow me to keep my focus on you and to include you in everything
Keep your presence strong in my life
Thank You for all you've done
I love you

The New Year

2010 Pictures, Images and Photos
Many mark December 31 as the end and January 1st as the beginning. However God gives us a beginning and the option of salvation through Jesus. Take advantage of another day given by God to strengthen your faith and enjoy everything He has to offer.

"The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, 'The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!' "

Lamentations 3:22-24
